THE BIG IDEA Help! They want to Cancel Remote Work!Weeks ago, it appeared as though Elon Musk was the only one raising a case against remote work, but that’s not the case. Remote work now has more enemies outnumbering your entire village people combined times 100! The work-from-home policy was made commonplace by the lockdown, even though it had been existing long before then. Now that the pandemic is history, major companies like Amazon, Disney, Salesforce, and others are calling their employees to return to the office. In fact, Apple led the movement last year, although its workers protested, saying they’d been working efficiently from home. The point in all of these is that remote work is being threatened, and if you are a remote worker, you may want to brace up for the inevitable. Founders are optimizing for profit and productivity, and if scrapping remote work is how they can achieve this, then why not? But employees —the workforce behind the running of these companies are insisting on maintaining remote work culture. Perhaps, this is how World War III will break out! But if this turns into a battle, there are a couple of rhetorical questions to ponder on:
