Kippa is on a mission to help small businesses in Africa run more sustainably and profitably. Today, small businesses in Africa transact over $3.5T annually, more than 90% of which is in cash. Their first tool helps all small businesses record their sales, expense, and credit transactions in an app, allowing them to get 3x faster repayments on debts outstanding. 

About the role

They are looking to hire a Senior Product Manager who will;

  1. Own & Drive the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, and growth for one or more of the products within a vertical at Kippa

  2. Own & Drive the user experience on Android & IOS for this product. Understand the user’s needs (both spoken and tacit) and identify current gaps in the system.

  3. Ship products with Engineering and Design based on the agile framework.

  4. Evaluate the impact of your changes by analyzing data and sharing insights with the broader team -“Eat your own dog food” meaning you should be a power user of your product and know it better than anyone else in the company.

  5. Help the Business team define clear differentiated value propositions that they can offer to customers/merchants/aggregators etc. in the market

What do you need to be considered successful?

You will be responsible for managing the roadmap, pricing, packaging, and documentation of their product. You will also be responsible for the following:

  1. Launching enhancements on existing product flows/adding features which

  • Improves discovery

  • Improves usage of the feature by improving UI/ UX or otherwise

  • Improves overall retention of the feature/ product

  • Monetization

  1. Launching and driving the adoption of new products which achieve one or more of the following goals

  • Monetization

  • Overall Activation & Retention of Users on the Kippa or Kippa platforms

  1. Defining product strategy and roadmap, and maintaining and grooming the product backlog with consensus from all stakeholders

How important are you to the bottom line?

As a Senior Product Manager at Kippa, you’ll be a cross-functional ninja interfacing across almost every function of the business (e.g. designers, engineers, marketing, etc) to conceptualize, build and maintain successful products that ultimately delight our users

You will seamlessly weave between cross-functional teams in order to build and grow a wide range of products with a growth mindset while being able to communicate product vision to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Has the capability to drive projects to fruition; no matter how complex or ambiguous the environment is.

  • Thrives in a cross-functional and fast-paced, startup environment. Is not afraid of rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty with minute details.

  • Sweats the small things – font types, alignment, UI, UX, etc – you get their drift!

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on customer research, data, and industry trends.

  • Stays on top of what is happening in the industry molds the product to make it future proof

  • Articulate communication skills and great stakeholder management
